The Other Side of Persecution is an online platform for testimonies that tell of persecution. The focus lies on the European history of the 19th and 20th centuries. A broad concept of persecution includes political, racist, anti-Semitic, social Darwinist or religious motives as well as persecution on the basis of sexual orientation or gender. The testimonies of persecuted people presented here are diverse. They range from diary entries, letters and calendars to travelogues and memoirs in prose form.
Individual testimonies are presented here at regular intervals and their potential for historical research and educational work is analysed. The articles are selected by the editorial team and written by guest authors.
Suggestions for contributions are always welcome.
